INTERFACE SCHOOLS CHALLENGE

A group of St. Michael's A2 Business Studies students who recently won the Interface School's Challenge Competition, with their teacher Mrs Maguire, principal Mrs Corr and business advisor Mrs Mulholland.

The aim of the competition was to promote environmental awareness throughout the business and education sectors. The group of seven students namely Helen Bailey, Helen Brewster, Conor Bell, Sinead Lavery, Adrian Hutchinson, Caroline McNally and Damien McAlinden; undertook a project focused on the development of an environmental policy for the Bank of Ireland South Down District. The project submission included a written report and an oral presentation.

Work began on the project in September 2001 and through the hard work of the students, teachers and the continued cooperation from the Bank of Ireland it was finished in March 2002.The hard work paid off as the team were awarded first prize at an awards evening on the 18th April 2002 at the White Gables Hotel, Hillsborough. Obviously everyone was delighted.

The group wish to thank Interface - Lurgan, for this excellent opportunity and special thanks must go to Mrs Colette Mulholland - Bank of Ireland - Lurgan, for her help, support and encouragement.
